PSCPI Facilitator Training Program

PSCPI facilitator training is designed for interpreters who feel called to hold space for their colleagues  to cultivate awareness, connection, and resilience within community. PSCPI facilitators do fix, rescue, or advise.

This training prepares facilitators to independently host and sustain PSCPI groups that are psychologically safe, values-driven, and centered on reflective growth.

Facilitators learn how to:

  • Create and maintain psychological safety

  • Guide powerful, awareness-building conversations

  • Support group-led insight rather than directing outcomes

  • Recognize and amplify strengths and values

  • Navigate emotion, tension, and complexity with steadiness

  • Foster belonging without fostering dependency

The work is experiential. Participants don’t just learn concepts -- they practice facilitating, receive feedback, and deepen their own self-awareness. Before holding space for others, facilitators learn to hold space for themselves and each other.

Who This Training Is For

PSCPI facilitators tend to share certain qualities. Some qualities may be more well-developed and others need attention. We are all glorious and sometimes messy works-in-progress. With room to grow, the training is intended to grow these qualities:

  • Reflective and self-aware

  • Comfortable with vulnerability (their own and others’)

  • Curious rather than reactive

  • Able to listen without rushing to solve

  • Grounded in respect for diverse experiences

  • Willing to examine their own biases and growth edges

PSCPI values

  • Community over hierarchy

  • Awareness over advice

  • Strengths over deficits

  • Long-term resilience over quick fixes

  • Integrity in professional relationships

Many facilitators come to this training because PSCPI impacted them personally. Others may intuitively sense that this is for them. They may feel the quiet pull to help interpreters stay whole in work that can erode self-expression and identity over time.

What the Training Involves

The PSCPI facilitator training is a 10-month cohort experience. Participants:

  • Meet regularly in a small, committed group

  • Practice facilitation skills in real time

  • Engage in personal reflection and growth

  • Learn the principles, tools, and structure that ground PSCPI

  • Develop clarity about the interpreters they feel called to serve

Graduates are prepared to independently launch and sustain PSCPI groups within their own communities. While facilitators operate independently, they remain part of a growing network of trained PSCPI leaders who support and learn from one another.

Lastly

Not everyone is meant to facilitate. And that’s by design. Consider joining a currently running group to get a first-hand experience of what PSCPI can offer you and your colleagues.

If you are drawn to deep listening, if you believe interpreters deserve spaces where they do not have to perform competence, if you are willing to grow alongside the people you serve, this training may be for you.
